We are Blackpool
We are Community
We are Theatre
Th’ESP’s is Blackpool’s community theatre group. At it’s core, it’s a relaxed, supportive environment for acting, movement, masks, puppetry, script work and games where everyone is given the opportunity to get involved, contribute ideas, and (most importantly) have fun.
In Summer/Autumn 2018, the group will perform publicly, a production built using the skills and content we develop over the coming months.
Th’ESP’s is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and is therefore FREE to attend. As there is a maximum of only 16 places available for performers, we would suggest that you express your interest to join the group as soon as possible by clicking the “Add to cart” above.
If you’d like to find out more about who we are, what we do and how we go about it, then we recommend you attend one of our free taster sessions, details below. We look forward to seeing you there!
Come join us for a FREE taster session 7-9pm on Tuesday 16 January or Tuesday 23 January
At: Blackpool & The Fylde College
Th’ESPs will start on Tuesday 30 January 2018 and work towards a performance in summer next year.
The company will be led by Melanie Whitehead and will have regular input from other specialist artists.
We will use our own stories about Blackpool to tell a new tale about the town and aim to perform this in a few different locations – all company members will have a voice in these decisions and we hope it will be a genuinely collaborative process.
There will be a maximum of 16 performer places available.
If you’re not sure and want to find out more, we encourage you to join one of our taster sessions. This will help us to pull together a company with the broadest range of skills and best chances of building a genuine ensemble.
Register interest now by clicking “Add to cart” above and giving us your name and email address.
We hope to be able to offer non-performance opportunities within the company too – these will be detailed in the new year.
We are really grateful to the Big Lottery.
