Taster Session: Weds 4 September
Starting: Weds 11 September
Until: Weds 4 December
A pilot project aimed at anyone aged 18+ who is interested in exploring how movement and dance can bring people together, build fitness, develop new skills and have a positive impact on your well-being.
These regular weekly sessions are specially aimed at beginners or those who have little confidence in their movement or dance abilities.
We will take inspiration from yoga, choreography and individual contemporary dance practice plus consider how the body can be used to tell stories; focussing on individual development as well as building awareness of working as a group. Everyone will be given the chance to explore their own creativity through trying out specific movement techniques, learning new skills, building flexibility and fitness and also plenty of free-styling and having fun as a group.
This is a 12-week project which is FREE to attend; there are 20 places available in the group.
The project has been supported by Revoe-lution, will take place at their new Community Centre and priority for places will be given to those living in the Revoe area; we therefore recommend you register your interest ASAP as places for those outside of Revoe will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. (Use the “Add to Cart” button above)
We hope to have a sharing of our work at the end of the project to friends and families, however, this will decided by the group as the project takes shape….
Professional dance and movement specialist and new TESP Associate Practitioner Sarah Lockwood will lead this project. Sarah has a degree in dance performance, a diploma in dance studies from Laban and a PTLLS Teaching qualification. She is a working freelance dance artist and staff member at Ludus Dance and lecturer at Salford University.
